The language of bloggingPosted: February 11, 2013
To save the sanity of myself, my family and my close friends, I am here to start my very own blog. Let me explain.
I have a passion for communication. It but became profoundly more pronounced on my recent trip overseas, where as the sole English speaker I got to experience the ever-so-sophisticated system of hand and facial expression communication. Thanks to that same trip, my “passion for communication” became a “passion for learning other languages”… and I recently set myself a goal. (Heeey… it was new years’… that’s what you do, right?)
That’s how many I’ve decided to learn.
Oh, and a bit… I want to learn a little Russian just so that I can say I speak Russian. I’ll fill you in on the languages and details of my plans as time goes by.
So why are you here writing a blog instead of off working to reach your epic quota, you ask?
Over the past several months, I’ve bombarded my family and friends with stories of words and expressions in other languages that they truly don’t want to know. So as an alternative to yelling excitedly across at them “AH… you’ll NEVER guess what!!! “…. I have somewhere a little quieter to share my excitement – accompanied with the relevant capital letters & exclamation marks for the time.
This is how I’m becoming a polyglot without going nuts.
